It’s early. The sun is yet to rise. But I can’t get back to sleep. Not today. Not on the day of the Hunt.

Once a year the witch coven gathers at the top of the cliffs, and every witch to turn fifteen must hunt and claim a dragon with the binding spell.

The coven elders say witches claim dragons to protect them. They say dragons need the binding to survive. I’m not sure that’s true, but here I am, waiting for the witch bell to toll, because, well, it’s always been this way…
